Mor-Gran-Sou Electric Cooperative is dedicated to providing affordable, reliable energy and services that support and unite our member-owners. The Cooperative also promotes community and economic development, and provides steady, reliable employment in meeting its goals.
We are a member-owned, grassroots organization that is both a community member and a public servant. We're proud to be your local Touchstone Energy® cooperative.
Currently, more than 6,000 member-consumers residing in Morton, Grant and Sioux counties in south central North Dakota own us. We have 8,196 meters in service. With 242 miles of transmission line and 3,577 miles of distribution line, our service provides electricity to one of the most sparsely populated areas in the country, with an average of just 2.17 consumers per mile of power line. This compares to a national average for rural electric cooperatives of 6 consumers per mile of line, and a national average of investor-owned utilities of 35 consumers per mile.
Member-consumers elect their directors annually. Members are able to vote by mail or at the annual meeting in July. Nine members from throughout our service area serve on the board. The directorship positions are limited to six three-year terms.
Organized in 1941, Mor-Gran-Sou provided our first power service on May 1, 1947. Mor-Gran-Sou employs 31 individuals. Our offices are located in Flasher, Mandan and Fort Yates, N.D. Contact Us.
